A shading, sheening, shimmering midnight blue fountain pen ink.

Red-orange light blossomed from the end of the wizard's staff as they uttered every party's greatest joy and sorrow: "Fireball." For a moment, all were blinded by the flash and their ears rang with the roar of unleashed flames hurtling through the air. Then the crash and boom of a successful hit. Screams rang out as the wizard's dark blue robe billowed in the rush of heated air that rolled back towards them. A satisfied smile played across their lips.

A shimmering, shading midnight blue, this inks speaks of long nights spent studying and the practicality of a blue-black ink for scribbling legibly on scrolls and spellbooks. The red-orange shimmer adds a playful nod towards everyone's favorite spell: Fireball.

Use this fountain pen ink when you want something serious and legible, but not too serious. Practical and magical all at once.

Purchased this from r/Pen_Swap as part of the first drop! This is a navy-blue ink - almost black in very wet pens or dip pens - with a moderate amount of red-orange sheen and an unobtrusive quantity of gold shimmer. The dye concentration is high (to achieve the sheen) and the color is rich, but the hue of the ink is only moderately saturated (in the color theory sense). The flow is pleasantly wet but not overly so, and accordingly doesn't budge once dry. When spread with a water brush, it demonstrates a small amount of pink multishading, but this characteristic is not visible in normal writing.

The subtle characteristics and partial invisibility of the shimmer in a very dark base color make this a good note-taking ink or for filling forms in a professional setting, but people who are looking for extreme color pops or an electrically-vibrant effect may be better served by another color. I am currently using this in a Jinhao 82 for letter writing and illustration.

What a gorgeous shade of deep royal blue. The whole time I was swatching it, the Sorcerers Apprentice song from Fantasia was bouncing around my head. Haha. The shimmer is perfect and remarkably subtle. It’s definitely a magical shade!
